The Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance celebrates and explores Broek Pork Acres in Coalhurst in support of the City Palate Fourth Annual Pig & Pinot Festival.
Chef teams were invited to Broek Pork Acres to visit the pasture pork farm, and have a hands-on culinary experience where they rolled up their sleeves and created some great pork sausage!
City Palate Pig & Pinot Festival:
Thirteen chef teams competed for the honour of winning the “Divine Swine” trophy, sponsored by Alberta Pork, using Broek Pork Acres pork. The city’s most talented sommeliers helped guests sip, swish, andsavour a global selection of both red and white pinot – all in support of CalgaryMeals on Wheels.
Once again, City Palate attracted some of the best chefs and restaurants in Alberta to prepare great tasting pork dishes. Featured chefs include Darnell Japp (Avec Bistro), Alison Bieber (Black Pig Bistro), Chris Dewling (Blink), Andrew Winfield (River Café), Glen Manzer (Cibo), Ching Li (The Cookbook Co. Cooks), Darren MacLean (downtownfood), Jonathan Sobol (FARM), Duncan Ly (Yellow Door Bistro at Hotel Arts), Judy Wood (Meez Cuisine and Catering), Justin Leboe (Model Milk), Nicole Gomes (Nicole Gourmet Catering), and Cam Dobranski (Winebar Kensington).Wines will be poured by Metrovino, Bin 905, Kensington Wine Market, the cellar,Vin Room, Vine Arts and Wine Ink.
