Dig In Horticulinary Festival

The first annual Dig In Horticulinary Festival is a celebration of growing, eating, and supporting local featuring the endless horticultural and culinary opportunities in the St Albert region. Festival participants will be getting their hands dirty in many ways – learning gardening and growing techniques, becoming masters in the kitchen, and sampling Alberta culinary delights to name a few!

Friday night features a culinary kickoff with the Alberta Ate Chef Collaborative dinner, featuring some of Alberta’s top chefs coming together to produce an unforgettable and interactive multi-course meal that showcases local producers and products. Collaborating on this dinner are:

- Chef Blair Lebsack (RGE RD)
- Chef Julia Kundera (The Glasshouse Bistro)
- Chef Danielle Job (Holt Renfrew Café)
- Chef Doreen Prei (Petroleum Club)
- Chef Karine Moulin (Hotel Arts, Calgary)
- Chef Jan Hansen (Heritage Park, Calgary)
- Chef John Riedler (The Raven Bistro, Jasper)
- Chef Brad Lazarenko (Culina Family of Restaurants)
- Chef Steven Furgiuele (Culina Mill Creek)

On Saturday, there will be free demonstrations and sampling at the main stage at the Enjoy Centre from 9 AM to 3:30 PM. Pickles, pies, and peppers retro contests will be held throughout the day. Don’t miss the Hot Pepper Eating Contest Participants can also pre-register for hands-on sessions, where you can develop your green thumb or become master of your kitchen. From nanofarming to edible landscaping, Alberta sushi to desserts, and craft beer to wine – there’s something for everyone!
