First Nature Farms

Certified organic for the past 25 years, First Nature Farms is considered an ecological reserve with around 3000 acres of mixed aspen forest, three creeks and dozens of beaver ponds. Around 10% of our land are fields which supply our hay and grazing needs. Rich in wildlife, species include Trumpeter Swans, grizzly and black bears, river otters, wolves, cranes and the occasional heron. Sharing the biodiversity are Belted Galloway cattle, Plains bison, pastured chickens and turkeys but we specialize in Berkshire pork. We raise the heritage breed in a gentle environment from farrow to finish, outside, year round and market them in Edmonton and Vancouver. FIrst Nature Farms is also home to many WWOOFers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). For over 15 years, hundreds of world travellers have stopped in to learn about life on an organic farm.
