This event is for Alberta vegetable and fruit growers/processors and/or food hubs to learn about fresh produce expansion opportunities and explore the opportunity for growth and collaboration with Federated Co-op and The Grocery People (TGP). Mike Furi, Manager, Procurement and Pricing, for Federated Co-op and The Grocery People will speak about their interest in establishing a collaborative model in Alberta to supply local produce to their locations in Alberta. How collaboration works. How volumes are determined. How and why Certified Canada Gap is required to access a grocery retail market channel. Dan Erlandson, President of Spring Creek Gardens, will speak on the grower perspective and experience with his involvement in Saskatchewans Prairie Fresh Food Corporation and vegetable value chain supplying Federated Co-op.
