Steven’s culinary roots extend to Calabrese, Italy; he started cooking at home in the Italian boroughs of Sault Ste Marie since he could hold a knife. Under the keen guidance of his mother and senior family members, Steven moved on to making wine and charcuterie, rolling fresh pasta, baking bread and creating antipasti dishes, all by the age of twelve. From this homegrown culinary inspiration, his passions spread to include music (metal!), art, and photography.

I am insanely passionate about eating healthy, local, REAL food. I can live without convenience products or the plethora of processed foods littering the shelving of our food shoppes. My family upbringing has made me a strong believer in farmers markets and local food economies.”
“As Chef de Cuisine at Culina Mill Creek, I intend to focus my weekly specials on Calabrese and Mediterranean cuisine along with some Brazilian influences (my most recent fixation). I will also continue to expand on Culina’s use of local food producers and farmers.”
