Harmonic Herbs is a small family farm in central Alberta, near Barrhead. Kathleen and Gord provide amazing plants and seeds and see their role as inspiring Albertans to grow their own delicious and nutritious food/medicine. Specializing in vegetables and herbs adapted to their short northern growing season and prairie conditions, they offer only open pollinated, untreated and non GMO seed from an array of varieties that have stood out in their extensive trials. Highlights of the 2014 season include planting 10 types of quinoa, 12 beans, 24 lettuce and 33 tomatoes. The diverse patchwork of grains, flowers, herbs and vegetables all going to seed make the farm an oasis for insects and birds. Kathleen and Gord share their experience at workshops around the province, and look forward to hosting more events on their farm in the future.
