WinSport executive sous chef Ronnie Gillman was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia: a land known for its multiculturalism and great food. Ronnie grew up in his mother’s kitchen, learning about food preparation as the focal point of family events. He started cooking professionally at the age of 16 and then went on to study Culinary and Hospitality at the William Angliss Institute in Melbourne. He has gained experience in Melbourne’s premium private, wedding, kosher and corporate catering venues including the Formula 1 Fine Dining Series with many of Australia’s best chefs. Shortly after, he travelled and ate his way through Europe, the Middle East and Asia to sample some of the world’s unique cuisine. Ronnie first joined WinSport in 2006 before taking time to travel. He returned as sous chef in 2011 and has been inspired by seasonal ingredients and traditional flavours ever since.
