Calgary chefs compete on Food Network shows
Two of Calgary’s notable chefs are set to compete on two different Food Network Canada and Food Network shows this season. Chef Jinhee Lee and Chef Nicole Gomes show off their culinary skills as they battle their way to the top of the culinary world.
Chef Jinhee Lee (of Foreign Concept), winner of the 2017 Canadian Culinary Championships, goes up against some of Canada’s finest chefs on this season of Top Chef Canada on Food Network Canada. Chef Lee is the only competitor from Alberta to appear on this season. In the season premiere, Chef Lee’s Maple Lime-Glazed Chicken Thigh with Lemongrass Curry earned her the best dish of the elimination challenge, with Judge Janet Zuccarini deeming the dish “flawless”. Top Chef Canada airs on Sunday nights at 8:00 PM MST on Food Network.

Chef Nicole Gomes (of Nicole Gourmet and Cluck ‘N Cleaver), winner of last season’s Top Chef Canada: All-Stars, is one of two Canadians set to take part in the ultimate culinary battle: Iron Chef Gauntlet, where they have the chance to make history as the first ever Canadian Iron Chef. Fellow Top Chef Canada winner (Season 1) Chef Dale Mackay of Saskatoon also competes this season. Up against the best of the best and a field of only seven competitors, the challenges are intense thanks to host (and judge) Alton Brown. The winner of this field must go on to beat three Iron Chefs in order to become the next Iron Chef. Iron Chef Gauntlet airs Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM MST on Food Network.
